Yolanda is a technology teacher at San Jose de Monterrico School. She discovered her vocation for teaching as a student, when she was teaching technology classes at a primary school. Her passion has led to her 24 year career as an educator. This has allowed her to investigate and implement diverse educational tools in the classroom.
As a result of her research and investigation of new strategies to motivate and develop competencies needed by 21st Century students, Yolanda became interested in working with Sugata Mitra and implemented SOLE sessions at the school where she currently works and had excellent results.
Yolanda studied Business Administration at IPAE (Instituto Peruano de Acción Empresarial / Peruvian Institute of Business), at the Facultad Pontificia Civil of Lima and at IDAT (Institute of Administration and Technology). She is also co-author of a series of computing and information technology books called Virtual School Project. She is also a public speaker of topics related to CIT and digital citizenship. In 2015, she won the content “Tell me how you view the Internet” organised by the Association of Internet Users of Spain, with participants from schools all over Ibero-america.
